Madhya Pradesh: Days after the schedule for the monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha was released, the opposition raised concerns and demanded an extension of the session. LoP, Dr Govind Singh demands the session to run for three weeks instead of 5 days.
The Congress leader claimed that over the past some months, the BJP-led state government has “failed” on several fronts, including in tackling crime against women, law and order issues, power crisis, farmer suicides, high fuel prices, as well as issues pertaining to health and employment. Besides, the legislators also need to raise problems of their constituencies, he said.
As per the schedule released, the monsoon session for the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha will commence on July 25 after the Panchayat elections close on July 18th. The session is planned for five days and will conclude on July 29. The notice to hold the monsoon session was issued by Governor Mangubhai Patel, sources said.
Notably, the first phase of polling for the Panchayat election is scheduled for June 25 which will be held through ballot papers. There are three district panchayat seats under Alot janpad area and these seats have been reserved for women, two for the unreserved category while the other for ST.
Prospective candidates for the post of district panchayat member have been campaigning door-to-door to mobilize its voters and listening to the grievances of residents and have assured that their issues will be sorted out at the earliest, swaying the voters.
