PM Modi Announces Ex-Gratia For Next Of Kin Who Succumbed To The RTA

Rajasthan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his sympathies today after a passenger bus and a tanker collided near Pachpadra in Rajasthan’s Barmer district, killing several people. He also announced a 2-lakh ex-gratia payment from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the deceased’s relatives. In a tweet, the PMO stated, “The injured will also be paid Rs. 50,000 each.”
On Wednesday, a private bus caught fire after colliding with a tanker trailer on the Barmer-Jodhpur Highway in Rajasthan. At least 12 people are believed to have died. The bus left Balotra around 9:55 AM, according to a passenger, and the accident occurred when a tanker travelling on the wrong side of the road collided with the bus. Following the collision, the bus burst into flames. When the accident occurred, there were 25 persons present in the bus.
Following the incident, district administration and police authorities arrived on the scene. Madan Prajapat, a Pachpadra MLA, and Sukhram Bishnoi, the state environment and forest minister, were also present at the accident site. Rescue efforts are underway. The collision has caused a major traffic backup on the highway. While 10 people have been detained, police say they have no information on the remaining passengers.
