Police Nab Three People Involved in Vehicle Theft

Dewas: In an ongoing operation to curb motor vehicle thefts, the Nevamar Police, MP successfully nabbed a gang, officials said.60 bikes and a tractor has been recovered from three arrested, the police added.On primary interrogation it was learnt that the robbers used the master key of the unlock the vehicle illicitly and ride them away. The interogation is still on and the police officials are trying to extract information about their associates. Sources reveal, two out the three are brothers involved in the crime.

Amongst all the states in India, Delhi is reported to have the highest level of thefts. Between November 2021 and February 9 this year, as many as 36,782 vehicles were checked and verified using the Vehiscan app, whereas 617 vehicles were found unattended or being plied without proper documents.

From January 1 to February 9 last year, about 235 vehicle theft cases had been registered.The police in the national capital launched an initiative named Khojbeen in November last year. Several measures, including keeping tabs on suspicious activities at parking lots, to curb thefts and recover stolen vehicles were taken.
