Rise in Active Covid Cases Reported
- 5,664 fresh infections logged in 24 hours
- Daily positivity rate stood at 1.96 per cent
- Over216.56 crore beneficiaries vaccinated under the national immunization drive.
New Delhi: India recorded 5,664 fresh infections in the past 24 hours. The recovery rate at 98.71 per cent accounted for 4,555 recuperations in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 4,39,57,929. The daily positivity rate stood at 1.96 per cent. The number of active cases stood at 47,922 accounting for 0.11 per cent of the total number of cases.
The active cases reported a rise by 1,074 in the last 24 hours. However, the mortality rate stood at 1.19 per cent recorded 35 fatalities which includes 21 deaths reconciled by Kerala taking the cumulative death toll to 5,28,337.
With the administration of 14,84,216 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 216.56 crore according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
According to updates on Sunday, over 203.03 crore (2,03,03,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 3.70 Cr (3,70,12,740) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered it added.
In the last 24 hours, ICMR tested 2,89,228 infected samples. So far, 89.15 crore tests have been conducted.
