Rs 11.93 Crore Ex-Gratia Allotted For Covid Deaths

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government had allotted an amount of Rs 11.93 crore as ex-gratia amount for family members of the Covid deceased. The amount will be directly e-transferred to the family members through DBT (Direct Bank Transfer), an official statement said on Monday.

Ex-gratia amount of maximum 5 crore was released for Raipur district. In Rajnandgaon it was Rs 1.07 crore, in Durg Rs 1.5 crore, in Bilaspur Rs 45 lakh and in Raigarh Rs 36.5 lakh, the statement said.

The District Collectors have to release an amount of Rs 50,000 as ex-gratia to family members of each Covid deceased. This ex-gratia has been given under the Disaster Relief Fund (DRF). The payment follows a ruling from the Supreme Court and directives from the Disaster Management Authority in the Union Home Ministry.
