Ukraine-Russia Crisis: Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a stalemate with Russia is “not an option”. Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu claims 97 percent of the Luhansk region, one of the two provinces that make up Ukraine’s Donbas, is under Russian control.

Ukrainian official states some 600 Ukrainians are being held captive and tortured in the Russia-occupied southern region of Kherson. More than 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered in the city of Mariupol have been transferred to Russia for investigation.

The US has taken command of the Russian-owned superyacht in Fiji and sailed it away from the South Pacific nation after winning a legal battle on Tuesday to seize a $325 million vessel. Russian forces continued their offensive in several locations in eastern Ukraine but did not secure any confirmed gains in ground assaults on Tuesday.

Russian forces shelled Kharkiv and its regional villages of Cherkaska Lozova, Slatyne and Korobochkyne on Tuesday, killing at least three people and injuring six more, the regional governor has said.
