Raipur: CM Bhupesh Baghel in a big move today sanctioned Rs 500 crore for the repair and maintenance of school buildings across the state. Instructions have been given to the Chief Secretary to begin alloting the repair and maintenance work contract as soon as the monsoon recedes.
Baghel claimed that he learned about the dilapidated condition of the school buildings during his state-wide visit under Bhent Mulakat. Locals and public representatives of schools complained of leaking ceilings, and inadequate electricity supply among a few of the problems in the school premises that were unaddressed because of lack of provisions.
As per the notice issued by the CM, the repair and maintenance work of all schools should be concluded before the upcoming academic session.
