New Delhi: Lashing out at the Centre for asking the States to reduce VAT on fuel, THe CG chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday refuted the PMs statement. Baghel cited that only 24 per cent VAT- the lowest was levied on fuel in CG while other states’ VAT slab ranged between 29 per cent to 31 per cent. He further went on to toll the Centre claiming the blatant rise in LPG was purely an attempt by the centre. He demanded the centre to scrap the Cess on petrol and diesel across the country. ” We did not get our tighful share because of the Cess imposed by your governemnt”, Baghel said. In the form of cess you take your share at 11.4 percent from the state while the state should get around 30 thousand crores.
