Sextortion Racket in Rajasthan Busted, One Arrested: Police

Raipur: A member of the alleged interstate sextortion gang has been arrested in Jalore Rajasthan. The arrest was sorted on a complaint filed by a woman from Gaya Nagar, Durg. Sub-Inspector Mukesh Sori, head constable Yogesh Chandrakar, constable Kanti Sharma and Sachin Singh and cyber cell officers Suresh Choubey, Nikhil Sahu and Vijay Shukla were involved in the operation.

As per the complaint lodged on January 6th, a youth from Rajasthan had befriended the 14-year-old daughter of the lady while playing free fire game and engrossed into chatting through What’s App. The complainant stated that the accused made obscene private photo videos and threatened to put them on social media if they failed to pay the ransom.

Based on the information received from the cyber cell, a special team was dispatched to Rajasthan who arrested the accused after searching for three days. The mobile used in the crime is confiscated and the accused is brought to Raipur for further investigation on transit remand, police officials said.
