State Govt Eases Curbs; Night Curfew in Place

Madhya Pradesh: The MP govt on Friday scrapped major COVID curbs, except reliving the night curb, which will be lifted given the COVID cases in the state decline majorly. The relaxation was announced through Twitter, where CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote- “Keeping in view the continuous fall in cumulative positivity rate and active cases of COVID-19, all the curbs imposed have been eased. All the social, commercial, cultural, political, religious, entertainment, sports activities and fairs in MP will be held with full capacity.”

Under the revised guidelines all educational institutes and boarding facilities could function at full capacity, while the attendance bar for weddings and funerals was also removed. Night curfew from 11 pm to 5 am is in place citing the existence of the virus in the community.

According to the media briefing by Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra, 2,612 new cases were logged in the last 24 hours while a recovery rate at 95.40 per cent accounted for 5,995 recuperations in a single day. The infection rate of the state stood at 3.49 per cent. The active caseload stood at 26,179, he added informing that 74,819 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
