Tremors Felt in Sarguja; Panic Amongst Residents
- Earthquake of magnitude 4.7 recorded in Sarguja District.
- No causalities and loss of property reported so far.
- The epicentre of the earthquake was situated near Surajpur.
Sarguja, CG: Tremors of magnitude 4.7 on the Richter scale jolted Ambikapur and Sarguja district, CG at around 11:57 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the state Met dept the epicentre of the quake was situated around Surajpur. No casualties and damage to property have been reported so far. However, a situation of fear has prevailed in the district.
Earlier on the intervening nights of July 28th and 29th, an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hit the Korea district. Tremors were felt in parts of Charcha, Baikunthpur. As per reports, two mine labours were injured while they were exploring the SECL Charcha Underground mines.
This is the third time CG has recorded earthquakes over the past few weeks.
