Two More Involved in the Accident; CCTV Footage Shows 5 Accused Together

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police held a press conference sharing the development in the investigation of the hit and drag case that took place at Kanjhanwala on New Year. The police added that a lookout notice for two more individuals identified as Ashutosh and Ankush who are absconding has been issued. CCTV footage has surfaced where all the five accused are seen getting down from the car. According to the police, the two are suspected of trying to shield the other five accused in the case. The police further informed that 18 teams have been engaged in the investigation.

Special commissioner of police (law and order) Sagar Preet Hooda said, “Based on CCTV camera footage and call detail records, the involvement of two more persons has emerged, and police are trying to track them.”

After the victim’s friend, Nidhi spoke to reporters and claimed that Anjali was drunk on the night of the accident, the victim’s family on Wednesday came out and dismissed the claims of her being drunk and said that the autopsy report did not report any alcohol in her blood at the time of her post-mortem. The family doctor claimed that they did not find a trace of alcohol in her stomach.

While speaking to reporters, the family doctor said, “According to the autopsy report, there was food inside the stomach. If she would have been drunk, the report would have mentioned the presence of a chemical. But the report says only food has been detected (inside the stomach).”

A 20-year-old girl was hit and dragged by a car in Kanjhawala, New Delhi on New Year. The girl suffered severe injuries and died on the spot while the pillion- Nidhi her friend who was present at the time of the incident jumped and saved herself.
