Union Health Minister Briefs Rajya Sabha on Current Situation of the Pandemic in the Country

After a stormy start, parliament proceedings in the ongoing monsoon session on Tuesday witnessed high voltage protests against the Pegasus Report . 

The Centre during the second half of the monsoon session briefed the opposition parties on the situation of the pandemic in the country and presented strategies that would be implemented to deal with it.  

Prior to the Health Minister’s discussion, MoS Bharati Pravin Pawar Rajya Sabha said,” There are no reports of concealing death by the states/UTs. However, some of the states based on reconciliation of mortality data have revised their figures.” 

Addressing the members of Rajya Sabha, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya stated that the country as a whole should follow PM Modi’s advice to effortlessly combat the third wave. Addressing the vaccine availability segment, he further added that the states have 10-15 lakh doses of vaccination stocked. 

Shedding light on the opposition’s   data of camouflaging slam, he mentioned that the Centre compiles and publishes data sent in by the state governments and that there is no personal benefit of the centre to amend the figures. 

The first day of the monsoon session saw a ruckus over the targeting of prominent leaders, journalists, politicians via Israeli phone hacking software Pegasus.
