Yogi Adityanath’s father passed away this morning ; CM won’t attend the funeral amid coronavirus

Uttar Pradesh: “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s father Anand Singh Bisht passed away at 10.44 am today”, Awanish K Awasthi, Additional Chief Secretary, informed, while expressing his deepest condolences.

The UP CM’s father was being treated at All India Institute Of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He was admitted to the hospital on March 15. Yogi’s father had complications in the kidney and liver.

The hospital’s Gastroenterology Department, headed by Dr Vineet Aahuja, was looking after him. Yogi’s father used to live in Panchur village of Uttarakhand’s Yamkeshwar area. He retired as forest ranger from the State Forest Department in 1991. 

The Chief Minister won’t be attending the funeral of his father amid the lockdown due to Covid-19, owing to his duties towards the state. In an emotional letter to his mother, he informed her about the same and requested her to involve minimum possible people in the funeral ceremony. 

The state has recorded 1,084 COVID-19 positive cases including 108 death toll.  The UP government has marked nine hotspot districts with large outbreaks, while four districts were marked as hotspot districts with clusters.
